UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS

What are the symptoms of migraine?

Migraine is a neurological condition with recurring attacks that can include head pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light or sound. Some people experience temporary neurological symptoms called aura, but many do not. Symptoms may begin before the headache and continue afterward. The frequency, duration, and impact of attacks can differ from one person to another.

Head pain

Moderate or severe pain may throb and worsen with ordinary movement.

Light or sound sensitivity

Everyday light and noise can become difficult to tolerate during an attack.

Nausea

Feeling sick or vomiting may accompany the headache and limit daily activity.

Visual aura

Some people experience temporary flashing lights, zigzags, or changes in vision.

Other aura symptoms

Temporary tingling or speech difficulties can occur with some migraine auras.

Energy or mood changes

Tiredness, yawning, or mood changes may appear before the headache begins.

Symptoms can have more than one cause, and experiences vary. A symptom list cannot tell you whether you have migraine. A healthcare professional can assess your symptoms and decide which tests or follow-up are appropriate.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY, TOGETHER

Less to remember. More to talk about.

A symptom journal gives the day-to-day details of life with migraine a place to go. With Jetty, you can talk or type about your symptoms and daily life while they’re still fresh.

Jetty keeps your health notes organized over time, helping you look back on changes and prepare the symptom history and questions you want to bring to your next appointment.

What to put in your symptom journal

Record when symptoms begin and end, any aura, nausea, and light or sound sensitivity. Include days affected and activities missed so the story extends beyond how strong the pain felt.

Add sleep, meals, cycle timing if relevant, and medication use as context. Jetty can help you review recurring patterns, without treating a coincidence as proof that something caused an attack.

Questions you might bring: What do my attack frequency and missed activities suggest we should review? Which changes in my usual headache or aura pattern should prompt urgent medical attention?
