UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS

What are the symptoms of Crohn’s disease?

Crohn’s disease causes long-term inflammation in the digestive tract. Which areas are affected helps shape the symptoms, which may include diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss. Symptoms can ease and return over time. Some people also experience changes beyond the gut. A clinical assessment is needed because other conditions can cause similar symptoms.

Diarrhea

Loose stools or more frequent bowel movements may disrupt everyday plans.

Abdominal pain

Cramping or belly pain can vary in location and intensity.

Fatigue

Feeling unusually tired may affect work, social time and routine tasks.

Appetite and weight changes

Reduced appetite, nausea or unintended weight loss may be part of the picture.

Joint discomfort

Some people experience joint pain or soreness beyond their digestive symptoms.

Eye or skin changes

Eye redness, eye pain or tender skin bumps can also occur.

Symptoms can have more than one cause, and experiences vary. A symptom list cannot tell you whether you have Crohn’s disease. A healthcare professional can assess your symptoms and decide which tests or follow-up are appropriate.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY, TOGETHER

Less to remember. More to talk about.

A symptom journal gives the day-to-day details of life with Crohn’s disease a place to go. With Jetty, you can talk or type about your symptoms and daily life while they’re still fresh.

Jetty keeps your health notes organized over time, helping you look back on changes and prepare the symptom history and questions you want to bring to your next appointment.

What to put in your symptom journal

Capture bowel frequency, stool changes, abdominal discomfort and energy in your own words. Include how symptoms affected a meal, commute or night’s sleep so the impact stays visible between appointments.

Keep food, stress and clinician-directed medication changes beside symptom notes when useful. Jetty can help you revisit timing and possible patterns without treating a coincidence as a proven cause.

Questions you might bring: Which changes should prompt me to contact the team between visits? What information would help us assess my symptoms and nutrition?
