UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS
What are the symptoms of psoriatic arthritis?
Psoriatic arthritis is an inflammatory condition that can affect joints and the places where tendons or ligaments attach to bone. It is linked with psoriasis, although joint symptoms sometimes begin before skin changes. The condition can also involve nails and fatigue. Different areas may be affected, making the full symptom history useful in medical assessment.
Joint pain and stiffness
Sore, stiff, or swollen joints may feel worse after rest or on waking.
Swollen fingers or toes
A whole finger or toe may become swollen rather than just one joint.
Heel or foot tenderness
Tender areas can occur where tendons or ligaments attach to bone.
Nail changes
Small pits, crumbling, or separation from the nail bed may appear.
Scaly skin patches
Psoriasis can cause inflamed, scaly areas on the skin or scalp.
Fatigue
Feeling drained can affect everyday activities alongside joint or skin symptoms.
Symptoms can have more than one cause, and experiences vary. A symptom list cannot tell you whether you have psoriatic arthritis. A healthcare professional can assess your symptoms and decide which tests or follow-up are appropriate.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY, TOGETHER
Less to remember. More to talk about.
A symptom journal gives the day-to-day details of life with psoriatic arthritis a place to go. With Jetty, you can talk or type about your symptoms and daily life while they’re still fresh.
Jetty keeps your health notes organized over time, helping you look back on changes and prepare the symptom history and questions you want to bring to your next appointment.
What to put in your symptom journal
Mention joint discomfort alongside heel pain, swollen fingers or toes, and skin or nail changes. Tell Jetty what made walking, typing, or getting dressed more difficult than usual.
Keep observations from different parts of your body in one place for rheumatology or dermatology visits. You do not have to decide which changes belong together before describing them.
Questions you might bring: Could my joint, heel, and nail changes be related? How should my dermatology and rheumatology teams coordinate the questions I have about my symptoms?
