UNDERSTANDING YOUR SYMPTOMS
What are the symptoms of Graves’ disease?
Graves’ disease is an autoimmune condition that can make the thyroid produce more hormone than the body needs. This overactivity can affect energy, sleep, temperature tolerance and heart rate. Some people also develop thyroid eye disease. Experiences vary, and symptoms alone cannot establish a diagnosis or show your thyroid hormone levels.
Heart rate changes
A racing or irregular heartbeat may be noticeable during everyday moments.
Heat and sweating
Feeling unusually warm or sweating more can make familiar settings uncomfortable.
Shaky hands
A hand tremor may make small, precise movements feel different.
Restless nights
Difficulty sleeping may sit alongside nervousness, irritability or daytime tiredness.
Weight changes
Weight may decrease even when your appetite has increased.
Eye discomfort
Some people develop gritty eyes, swelling, light sensitivity or double vision.
Symptoms can have more than one cause, and experiences vary. A symptom list cannot tell you whether you have Graves’ disease. A healthcare professional can assess your symptoms and decide which tests or follow-up are appropriate.
YOUR DAY-TO-DAY, TOGETHER
Less to remember. More to talk about.
A symptom journal gives the day-to-day details of life with Graves’ disease a place to go. With Jetty, you can talk or type about your symptoms and daily life while they’re still fresh.
Jetty keeps your health notes organized over time, helping you look back on changes and prepare the symptom history and questions you want to bring to your next appointment.
What to put in your symptom journal
Tell Jetty about sleep, heat sensitivity, shakiness and how your energy felt that day. Add when a change started and what it interrupted, without needing to reconstruct the week later.
Keep eye symptoms alongside your everyday notes, and record questions about recent thyroid results or clinician-directed medication changes. Your timeline supports a conversation; it cannot determine hormone levels or treatment needs.
Questions you might bring: How do these changes fit with my latest thyroid tests? Do my eye symptoms need a separate assessment?
